The 62 meter long ro-ro passenger ferry Sterna allided with a pontoon at the ferry terminal in Lillmälö, Pargas, Finland. The ferry was arriving with 21 passengers when it suffered  a malfunction and struck the pontoon at a high rate of speed.

The Sterna struck hard enough that the pontoon became entangled with its hull.  Reports state one ramp also sustained significant damage. The damaged ramp was completely unusable preventing some 16 vehicles to be unloaded.

Reports state some of the 21 passengers required some medical attention, but no reports of injuries. The Sterna was taken out of service for repairs.

The 83 meter long, 3675 dwt cargo vessel Egon W ran aground near Harkinsalo, Finland. The Egon W was en route to Glueckstadt from Joensuu when it suffered engine failure. The vessel went adrift and ran aground. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. The crew was able to refloat the vessel a few hours later. Reports state divers had inspected the hull, but the vessel returned to port for some unreported reason.

The 25 meter long tugboat Mons ran aground off the island of Airisto near Turku, Finland. The Mons had suffered rudder failure when it drifted aground. No reports of injuries to the three crew on board. Authorities arrived on scene and found there was some oil pollution around the tugboat. Booms were placed around the vessel and most of the pollution was hydraulic oil and was recovered by absorbent pads. Divers inspected the hull and found it remained intact.  The Mons was later refloated and was able to proceeded to Turku under its own power.
