The 35 meter long fishing vessel Ballstadøy became disabled off Sveggen in Averøy, Norway. The Ballstadøy had suffered a problem with its gearbox and went adrift. The crew requested assistance with the NSSR lifeboat responding. The lifeboat towed the Ballstadøy to Kristiansund later the same day. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
The fishing vessel Jin Gwo Dee Haw No. 1 caught fire while berthed in the harbour of Port Louis, Mauritius. The fire started during the early morning hours and quickly grew to engulf the vessel’s superstructure. No reports of injuries, but authorities had the fishing vessel towed out of the harbour.
