Unmanned Vessel Goes Ashore

A 52-foot pleasure craft crossed Sarasota Bay, Florida and crashed ashore with no one aboard.    The owner had the vessel on autopilot when he got fell overboard.    The owner stated that he had kicked a dive ball on the deck to get it out of the way, but the dive ball went overboard dragging him with it.   Luckily, he was able to swim ashore and was uninjured.

Dinner Cruise Aground

The sternwheeler Starlite Princess went aground on a sandbar near Ormond Beach, Florida in the Intracoastal Waterway with 150 passengers onboard. The vessel was later freed and continued to its home port of Daytona Beach, Florida. Reports state there was no injuries or pollution being released. An investigation is looking into the cause of the accident
