The 40 meter long, 650 dwt fishing vessel Migdale became disabled off Foula Shetland while en route to Stromness. The fish carrier had suffered damage to a control rod to its propeller disabling the Migdale. Adrift in heavy swells, the crew requested assistance.  The RNLI responded and dispatched a lifeboat from Aith Voe to the scene. The lifeboat took the Migdale under tow and proceeded to St. Magnus Bay, Shetland. There an emergency tug took over the tow and proceeded to Aith Voe anchorage. No reports of injuries or pollution release.  Reports state the Migdale will arrange a tow with another tug to be taken to a shipyard for repairs.
