The 165 meter long ro-ro passenger ferry Paglia Orba allided with the dock at Marseille, France. Strong winds caused the Paglia Orba to break its moorings during the night and the vessel struck the dock. The ferry sustained a dent above the waterline, but no water ingress.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.  The Paglia Orba was moved to a sheltered berth where it was inspected. Reports state the vessel was to resume its normal voyage to Corsica.

The 16 meter long, 29.9 gt fishing vessel Ar Louarn sank off Cotinière, Saint Pierre d’Oléron, France. The trawler had suffered water ingress and notified authorities. The vessel’s EPIRB distress beacon was activated a short time later.  Authorities requested all nearby vessels to assist in search and rescue for the crew of the Ar Louarn.  Aircraft and SNSM lifeboats were also dispatched to the scene. An hour later a fishing vessel found one of the three crew of the Ar Louarn. He was in good condition, but the other two crew were still reported missing.  A search of the area found a debris field near where the trawler sank.

The 16 meter long fishing vessel Pierre de Jade became disabled off Cape Anifer, France.  The trawler had gone adrift after its propeller was fouled by a net. The vessel requested assistance with the French naval vessel Cassiopée responding.  The Cassiopée sent several divers to clear the net away from the propeller and shaft.  After the work completed, the Pierre de Jade restored propulsion and proceeded to Port-en-Bessin.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
