The 85 meter long self-propelled barge Hamburg allided with the 74 meter long self-propelled barge Gramper on the Danube River at the Kachlet Lock near Passau, Germany.  The Hamburg struck into the Gramper’s stern causing damage to the Gramper’s rudder.   Reports state the damage to the rudder was around 25,000 euros.  One deckhand on the Gramper was injured when a mooring line snapped.  No reports of pollution being released.   Both vessels were towed to Passau where the water police have launched an investigation into the incident.  Reports state the Hamburg was moving slowly and in ballast which kept damage to a minimum.

Aidacara

Aidacara

The 193 meter long, 3752 dwt passenger ship Aidacara allided with a pier near Hamburg, Germany.  The Aidacara suffered a dent in the hull near the stern of the vessel.   The Aidacara was taken under tow back to port to be inspected.   No reports of injuries or pollution released.

Magda D

Magda D

The 75 meter long, 1537 dwt freighter Magda D allided with the 175 meter long, 29040 dwt tanker Maersk Barry in the Neuhofer Canal at Hamburg, Germany.   The Magda D was proceeding in the canal with a pilot when it lost control and struck the port side of the Maersk Barry.  The Magda D suffered damage to its railing and hatches while the Maersk Barry hull was dented.   No injuries reported.   The Magda D was able to proceed on its voyage to Luebeck.   Reports state the probable cause of the allision was due to the strong current in the canal at the time of incident.
