The 168 meter long, 6124 dwt ro-ro ferry Finnarrow suffered damage while entering the harbour at Holyhead, Wales.  The Finnarrow had departed from Dublin with 77 passengers and 43 crew arrived in Holyhead.   As it attempted to berth, when it struck the quay.   The Finnarrow’s stern suffered damage allowing water ingress.   No reports of injuries to passenger or crew.   The passengers and vehicles on board were off loaded safely.   The vessel remains detained at Holyhead while it is inspected.

The 17.5 meter long tugboat JC sank at Holyhead harbour, Wales.  There was no one on board the tugboat when it sank at its berth in 3 meters of water.   The authorities placed booms around the vessel to contain any pollution released.   The vessel had some six tons of diesel fuel and 50 litres of oil on board at the time of the sinking.   The cause of the sinking was not reported.
