The 60 meter long, 950 dwt cargo vessel Ilmamui sank while berthed at Perkasa, Pulau Bangka, Indonesia. The vessel had been resting in the port for many years being in lay-up when it suffered water ingress.  The Ilmanui capsized and partially sank.  No reports of injuries.  Reports state the likely cause of the incident was due to lack of maintenance.

The 30 meter long, 257 gt tugboat Mitra Anugerah 10 caught fire in the Java Sea off Pulau Bokor Island near Jakarta, Indonesia. The Mitra Anugerah 10 was headed to Jakarta with a barge loaded with sand when a fire broke out in the tug’s engine room. The crew attempted to extinguish the blaze and dropped the towline to the barge. Eventually the fire was brought under control and the barge was relocated. No reports of injuries.

The 127 meter long, 7734 dwt container ship Meratus Banjar 2 sank in the Java Sea off Masalembo, Indonesia. The Meratus Banjar 2 was en route to Makassar from Surabaya with a deck load of containers when it developed a leak in the engine room.  The crew was unable to control the flooding and the boxship started to list to port.  The list increased and the vessel began to sink by the stern.  The following day, the Meratus Banjar 2 sank and rests 82 meters below the surface. Reports state that 18 of the 20 crew on board were able to abandon ship and were later rescued.  Two crew were reported as missing, but we presumed to have perished being trapped in the engine room as it flooded.
