The 190 meter long, 30185 dwt bulk carrier Juno ran aground on the St. Lawrence River near the Thousand Islands Bridge near Alexandria Bay, New York. The Juno was proceeding with a cargo of sugar when it ran hard aground after suffering a steering failure. The Juno sustained damage to one of the forward ballast tanks resulting in water ingress. Traffic was halted on the St. Lawrence River around the incident. No reports of injuries or pollution released. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

The 31 meter long passenger ship Juno ran aground  on Lake Vattern off Råssnäsudden, Sweden.   The Juno was underway from Motala to Karlsborgsvagen with 29 passengers when it ran aground on the wrong side of the channel.   No reports of injuries.   A lifeboat was dispatched to the scene and help evacuate passengers off the Juno.  The passenger ship was later refloated and proceeded to Motala where divers inspected the hull.   No reports of damage or pollution released.
