The 145 meter long, 16225 dwt LPG tanker Nusa Bintang suffered an explosion while berthed at Sekong, Silegon, Indonesia. The crew were doing maintenance in the engine room when something ignited causing the explosion. Two crew were severely burned by the blast and taken to hospital. No reports of pollution released.
The 98 meter long, 1654 dwt ro-ro passenger ferry Menggala collided with the 95 meter long LPG Tanker Gas Melawi in the Sunda Strait off Cilegon, Indonesia. The tanker struck the ferry damaging the bow ramp and port railing. No reports of injuries or pollution released. The Gas Melawi sustained only slight damage. No further details reported.
The 112 meter long LPG Tanker Blue Dream went aground in the Aegean Sea near Kos Island, Greece. The Blude Dream was en route to Suez from Kerch, Ukraine when it grounded. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. The tanker was able to refloat itself and proceeded to Kos to be inspected.
