The 80 meter long self-propelled barge Samara caught fire while in the shipyard at Het Bosch in Zwartsluis, Netherlands. The fire started in the bow when repairs caused a short circuit. The local fire brigade was called and was able to bring the blaze under control. No reports of injuries.
The 34 meter long ro-ro passenger ferry Ijveer 60 allided with a pole at Amsterdam, Netherlands. The ferry was arriving from Buiksloter Way when it struck a pole next to the jetty outside the main terminal in Amsterdam. Two people on board suffered minor injuries.
Local authorities launched an investigation into the incident. No reports of pollution released.
The 23 meter long, 122 gt fishing vessel Kingfisher became disabled near Den Helder, Netherlands. The trawler had departed from a nearby shipyard when it suffered engine failure. The crew requested assistance with the Den Helder KNRM lifeboat dispatched to the scene.
The lifeboat reached the Kingfisher and was able to attach a towline. Another lifeboat from Oudeschild arrived to assist steering the trawler into port. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
Reports state the crew were able to make repairs and continue on its voyage.
