Colorado

COLORADO

The 135 meter long self-propelled barge  Colorado allided with the Botlek Bridge on the Outer Maas at Rotterdam, Netherlands.   The Colorado had become disabled after suffering engine failure when it entered the Maas River from the Hartel Canal.  The crew attempted to drop anchor, but the vessel swung and struck the bridge.   Work on the bridge was halted until it could be inspected.   No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

Pallas

Pallas

The 110 meter long self-propelled tanker barge Pallas allided with a bridge on the Zwarte near Hasselt, Netherlands.  The Pallas was passing under the bridge, but was unable to lower the wheelhouse before the vessel struck.   The wheelhouse was completely destroyed, but the three crew on board were uninjured.  A small amount of smoke appeared after the allision, but no fire.   The Pallas was loaded with 2300 tons of diesel fuel at the time.  No reports of any pollution released.  A tug arrived later and pushed the disaled Pallas to a nearby quay.  The Pallas had left  Zwartsluis and was en route to the port in Zwolle.

Smit Schelde

Smit Schelde

The 28 meter long, 150 dwt tugboat Smit Schelde collided with another vessel near Rotterdam, Netherlands.  The Smit Schelde was assisting a vessel into the port when the two vessels collided.  The tugboat suffered significant damage to its wheelhouse.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.
