Tauber Aground

Tauber Aground

The 105 meter long self-propelled barge Tauber loaded with a cargo of sand went aground on the Rhine River near Niederkassel-Lülsdorf, Germany.  The Tuaber suffered damage to its hull and had water ingress.  The master of the barge was able to keep the vessel afloat until he could dock at the Evonik Works.  Local firefighters arrived on the scene and assisted in pumping water from the Tauber while repairs could be made.  No reports of injuries or pollution being released.  More info at general-anzeiger-bonn.de
