The 82 meter long cargo vessel Selvaagsund ran aground off Sumarsøyna, Norway. The Selvaagsund was headed to Rostock from Florø with a cargo of gravel when it ran hard aground at low tide. The Selvaagsund suffered hull damage with a hole in the bow and two ballast tanks.  The cargo vessel developed a list to port, but was in no danger of capsizing. The eight crew on board were able to bring the flooding under control before authorities arrived a few hours later. Divers surveyed vessel for damage. No reports of injuries or pollution released.

On March 17, the 40 meter long fishing vessel Kvalstein became disabled off Finnmark, Norway.  The Kvalstein had suffered engine failure some 300 miles off the coast.  With waves reaching eight meters, the trawler sent out a request for assistance.  Authorities dispatched a patrol boat to the scene.  The following day the patrol boat after some difficulty was able to connect a towline to the Kvalstein and both vessels proceeded back to port. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

The 75 meter long supply vessel Strilborg ran aground off Finnsnsesrenna, Norway. The Strilborg had made a navigation error and veered out of the fairway and ran aground. The vessel requested assistance with a Coastguard vessel and tug responding. Both vessels were able to refloat the Strilborg on the following high tide. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
