On the morning of February 4, the 75 meter long, 3013 dwt cargo vessel Hav Nordic (IMO: 8719085) ran aground on the Herøyfjord near Eggesbønes, Norway. Reports state the vessel had its rudder torn off and suffered water ingress. Multiple ballast tanks were ruptured and  the Hav Nordic developed a port list.  No reports of injuries to the 7 crew on board. The 22 meter long NSSR search and rescue vessel Idar Ulstein (MMSI: 257393000) arrived on scene later that morning and towed the Hav Nordic to port.  No reports of pollution.  The cause of the grounding was not disclosed.

On February 5, the 103 meter long, 6535 dwt tanker Isfjord (IMO: 9190200) became disabled in the Vestfjorden near Svolvær, Norway. The tanker in ballast had gone adrift after it suffered engine failure and requested assistance.  The NSSR deployed search and rescue vessels the 22 meter long  Hans Herman Horn (MMSI: 257035360) and 15 meter long Sundt Flyer (MMSI: 259192000) to assist. The two NSSR vessels arrived on site took the tanker under tow.  Reports state the Isfjord was towed into Svolvær safely.  No reports or injuries or pollution released.

On the morning of January 9, the fishing vessel VA 23 K sank in Kristiansandsfjord north of Grønningen Lighthouse, Norway. The fishing vessel had sprung a leak in the engine compartment which couldn’t be controlled. The VA 23 K  requested assistance with the local fire brigade dispatching a fire boat to the scene.  Attempts by the fire boat to de-water the fishing vessel failed and the VA 23 K sank.  No reports of injuries.
