On the afternoon of January 14, the 46 meter long, 796 dwt bunker tanker Kystbunker II (IMO: 9821366) ran aground off the island of Glasøya, Norway. The Kystbunker II was was en route from Rørvik to Ålesund with bunker and lubricating oils when it went aground on the rocks off Glasøya. The tanker remained aground until it was pulled free early morning of January 15. Reports state there was no injuries, damage or pollution released. The Kystbunker II  proceeded on its voyage to Ålesund.

On the morning of January 8, the 15 meter long service boat Frøylys (MMSI: 257844600) ran aground on the Hjertøysundet near Hitra, Norway. The Frøylys was en route to Frøy when it stranded off Dolmøya. The vessel sustained hull damage forward with a hole on the starboard side allowing water ingress. The vessel alerted authorities with the NSSR dispatched the rescue boat Horn Flyer to assist. Dewatering pumps were deployed which was able to control the flooding.

Reports state the two crew on the Frøylys were uninjured.  The owners stated salvage operations were underway.

On the early morning of January 6, the 28 meter long fishing vessel Kvalnes (IMO: 9853450) ran aground near Hellbergsøya, Norway. The Kvalnes sent out a distress call with the NSSR rescue boat Harald V dispatched to the scene. The fishing vessel was found stable, but would remain aground until the next high tide before any attempts to have it refloated. The Kvalnes did not sustain any hull damage, injuries or any pollution released.
