The 68 meter long, 1846 dwt fishing vessel Oriental Kim ran aground on the Seychelles near L’ilot, Glacis.  The Oriental Kim was en route to Port Victoria when it ran ashore on the rocky coastline.  The bow of the vessel sustained damage and authorities reported that some oil pollution was spotted around the vessel.  The Coast Guard has placed booms around the vessel to contain any pollution released. The Oriental Kim had some 250 tons of diesel fuel on board at the time of the incident.  No reports of injuries to the 25 crew on board.  Reports state divers have been contracted and have already begun repair work so that tugs can later refloat the vessel.  The Oriental Kim had some 700 tons of fish in its hold.
