Pilatus Venture

On May 3, the 200 meter long, 63276 dwt bulk carrier Pilatus Venture ran aground on the Parana River near Ramalla, Argentina. The Pilatus Venture was headed downstream bound for Tauranga when it stranded on a bank. Initial attempts to refloat itself have failed. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. Reports state the bulk carrier has partially block traffic at Ramalla.

On June 6, the 229 meter long, 87375 dwt bulk carrier Iolcos Vision ran aground on the Paraná River near Ramallo, Argentina. The Iolcos Vision was headed downstream bound for Imbituba, Brasil when it stranded near the 341 kilometer mark. The bulker remained aground for several hours until it was able to refloat itself. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

On April 23, the 190 meter long, 55700 dwt bulk carrier Beatrice ran aground on the Paraná River near Rosario, Uruguay. The Beatrice had departed from Rosario en route to Salif, Yemen when it ran aground. The bulk carrier remained aground for several hours until tugs were able to pull the vessel free. The Beatrice proceeded to Puerto Paraná where it will be surveyed for damage. No reports of injuries or pollution released.
