The 86 meter long self-propelled barge Coburg collided with the 48 meter long passenger ship Renate in the Gordnsdorf Lock on the Main-Danube Canal at Kelheim, Germany. The Cobug, loaded with 940 tonnes of fertilizer, struck the stern of the Renate. One of the 291 passengers on board the Renate was injured and taken to hospital in Kelheim for treatment. The Renate suffered some damage to its stern and  had several divers inspect the hull before it was allow to continue with its voyage. The Coburg had only slight damage and continued its voyage from Regensburg to Nuremberg. The water police has launched an investigation into the incident.

The 162 meter long, 1703 dwt passenger ship Celestyal Crystal collided with the 182 meter long, 37,000 dwt tanker STI Pimlico at the entrance to the Dardanelles Straits off the Gallipoli Lighthouse.  The Celestyal Crystal had departed from Mykonos, Greece to Istanbul with 853 passengers and 382 crew when it struck the STI Pimlico amidship on its port side. The tanker sustained significant damage with its cargo tanks punctured releasing naphtha into the sea. The STI Pimlico sustained water ingress and developed a 10 degree list.  The Celestyal Crystal had severe structual damage to its bow. No reports of injuries on either vessel.

Authorities dispatched rescue boats and tugs to the scene. Booms were placed around the tanker to help contain the pollution. Tugs proceeded to start a cooling operation to help prevent a potential explosion. The crew on the STI Pimlico began transferring cargo from the damage port tanks over to the starboard.

The STI Pimlico was en route from Tuapse, Russia bound for Malta with 30,000 tonnes of naphtha. Some initial reports state the STI Pimlico had become disabled after a power loss before the collision occurred.

On June 18, the 66 meter long passenger ship Asbach allided with a pier on the Rhine near Boppard, Germany. The Asbach was en route to Koblenz from Rüdesheim  with 100 passengers when it was attempting to berth at Boppard.  The first attempt  to berth was unsuccessful and when the vessel maneovered it smashed into the pier with its bow. The pier was torn away from its anchorage and the Asbach pulled away going downstream.  The Asbach then struck bottom as it avoided striking another vessel berthed along the shoreline. The passenger ship proceeded to Koblenz where it finally berthed. The water police found the master to be intoxicated.  The Asbach had suffered some dents and breaches in the hull, but was allowed to continue on its voyage the following day with a new master. No reports of injuries or pollution released. Reports state damage was estimated to be around 40,000 €.
