Adler Express

Adler Express

The 42 meter long, 42 dwt passenger ship Adler Express ran aground near Amrum, Germany.  The Adler Express was on its way from Wittdün to Hörnum with 105 passengers when it struck a sandbank during low tide.  The passengers were safely shuttled by another passenger vessel to the nearby island of Sylt.  No reports of injuries to passengers or crew.  The Adler Express was later refloated on the next high tide and proceeded back to its home port.   The vessel was undamaged and no pollution was released.  A rescue lifeboat from the German Maritime Rescue Service was on scene monitoring the activities.

Golden Dragon

Golden Dragon

The 27 meter long passenger vessel Golden Dragon became disabled while on the Min River near Mawei, China.   The vessel suffered water ingress when several valves failed and began to sink.  The crew sent out a distress call saying the vessel with 148 passengers was in danger and required assistance.  The Maritime Search and Rescue Center of Fujian Province dispatched rescue vessels to the scene.   The rescue craft safely transferred all the passengers to three rescue craft.   The passengers were later taken to Qingzhou.  Rescuers also assisted the crew to close the faulty valves avoiding the sinking of the Golden Dragon.   The crew remained on board and began de-watering the vessel.  The vessel was taken under tow to a berth where it was to undergo repairs.   Authorities have started an investigation into the incident.

Charlottenhof

Charlottenhof


The 46 meter long passenger ship Charlottenhof collided with passenger ship Havelperle on the Havel River near Caputh, Germany.  The Charlottenhof with 15 passengers on board struck into side of the Havelperle who was maneuvering to berth at the pier.  Passengers were able to avoid injuries by rushing to the other side of the vessels before the collision.  The Havelperle suffered significant damage to its upper decks estimated around 20000 €.   The water police is conducting an investigation into the incident.
