The 70 meter long, 567 dwt ro-ro passenger ferry Trans-Asia 8 ran aground near Nasipit, Agusan del Norte, Philippines.  The ferry was en route to Cebu City with 124 passengers and 51 crew when it grounded while doing a maneuver. The vessel remain aground a few hours before it was able to refloat itself.  The ferry was inspected by divers and was allowed to proceed on its way to Cebu City. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

The 172 meter long, 28611 dwt bulk carrier Tivoli  ran aground off Balabac Island, Philippines. The Tivoli was headed to Ho Chi Minh from Port Moresby. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. Reports state the vessel was later refloated.

The 57 meter long passenger cargo vessel Lady Mary Joy 1 ran aground in the Sulu Sea off Pampat Point, Bongao Island, Philippines  The Lady Mary Joy 1 was en route to Bongao Island with 308 passengers from Zamboanga when it ran onto the rocks after a navigation error. The vessel was unable to refloat itself and requested assistance. Several rescue boats arrived on scene and evacuated all the passengers to shore. No reports of injuries.  Authorities have stated the vessel may have suffered hull damage, but no reports of pollution released.
