Spirit Of France Grounded

The 213 meter long passenger ship Spirit Of France went aground at Rauma, Finland.   High winds had caused the passenger ship had broke from its moorings and it drifted aground.  The Spirit Of France was pulled free and docked.  The vessel will undergo an inspection for any damage.  No reports of injuries or pollution being released.  The Spirit Of France was being prepared at a shipyard for delivery to its owners at the time of the incident.

Rauma Aground

The 82 meter long, 500 dwt ferry Rauma went aground at Hollingsholmen, Norway when it had suffered engine failure to its thrusters.   The ferry suffered minimal damage to its hull, but some damage to its propeller wings.  No one was injured.   The Rauma had 50 passengers and 23 vehicles on board at the time of the incident.   The Rauma was taken out of service and towed for repairs.  No pollution was released.

The 21250 dwt freighter Stadiongracht went aground on the Baltic Sea near Rauma, Finland. The vessel lost steering while attempting to bring a local pilot onboard. The Stadiongracht sustained damage to a ballast tank, but no reports of injuries or pollution being released. The Stadiogracht had a cargo of clay from Brazil bound for Kotka, Finland.
