Island Panther

The 17 meter long workboat Island Panther allided with a tower at an off shore windfarm near Sheringham, England.   All five crewmen on board were injured in the collision with one man requiring medical assistance.  The vessel contacted the RNLI who dispatched lifeboats to the scene.  The first lifeboat to arrived administered first aid while the second brought a doctor to the Island Panther.   The lifeboats escorted the Island Panther back to Wells where ambulances took the injured crew to hospital.

The 18 meter long, 35 gt high-speed workboat Windcat 9 was damaged near Spurn Point, Humber, England.  The vessel had been holed while working at an offshore wind farm.   The Windcat 9 sent out a distress call that the vessel was in danger of sinking.  The RNLI launched two lifeboats and a RAF rescue helicopter was dispatched to the scene.  A nearby vessel came to the assistance of the workboat safely transferring the 3 crew and 12 passengers.   The rescue helicopter and RNLI lifeboat crew transferred two pumps on board the vessel and were able to get the flooding under control.  The Windcat 9 was taken under tow and proceeded back to Grimsby.   No reports of injuries or pollution released.

Nuevo Ria Aldan

The 36 meter long fishing vessel Nuevo Ria Aldan went aground near Ardnakinna Lighthouse, Berrehaven, Ireland.  The vessel had run onto the rocks and requested assistance from the RNLI.   The RNLI dispatched a lifeboat to the scene and pulled the 11 crew of the Nuevo Ria Aldan ashore.  The fishing vessel was refloated on the next high tide and taken to Castletownbere.   Authorities inspected the area for any pollution released and damage to the Nuevo Ria Aldan.
