The 80 meter long ro-ro passenger ferry Lærdal ran aground on the Sogne Fjord off Dragsvik, Norway. The ferry had suffered a malfunction while attempting to berth causing the Lærdal to veer off and run aground.  No reports of injuries to the 7 persons on board. Another ferry arrived a short time later and pulled the Lærdal free. The Lærdal proceeded to dock in Dragsvik and  began inspection for damage.

The 171 meter long, 11400 dwt ro-ro cargo vessel Alios ran aground in the Aegean Sea near Kea Island, Greece. The Alios was headed to Limassol, Cyprus when it went hard aground due to human error. The Alios was unable to refloat itself and requested  assistance.  A tug was dispatched to aid in refloating efforts.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. Local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

The 164 meter long, 10454 dwt ro-ro car carrier Modern Express was successfully towed to Bilbao, Spain.  The car carrier had been adrift since January 26 after it  suffered a cargo shift while in the Bay of Biscay en route to Le Havre, France. The Dutch salvage company Smit was later able to connect a towline on February 1st while the car carrier was  off the coast of Mimizan, France.  The tugs slowly towed the listing Modern Express to Bilboa where it safely docked. Investigators will board the vessel to inspect the cargo decks .
