The 70 meter long, 460 dwt ro-ro passenger ferry Sigrid was reported disabled at Stokkvågen, Norway. The ferry had sustained a mechanical breakdown with its gears. Reports state the crew sent a car to get the necessary parts to conduct a repair. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

The 136 meter long, 1184 dwt ro-ro passenger ferry Midnatsol caught fire in the Barents Sea off Vardø, Norway. The crew was alerted to smoke coming from a fuse board on the vessel.  Emergency services responded and the fire was quickly extinguished. No reports of injuries, but one person was taken to the doctor as a precaution. No reports of damage or pollution released. The Midnatsol was able to continue on its voyage to Vadsø and Kirkenes later the same day.

The 110 meter long, 1215 dwt ro-ro passenger ferry Schulpengat caught fire while off Den Helder, Netherlands. The fire started in a 400-volt switch in a control room below deck. Crew spotted the smoke and quickly cut electricity to the switch. The crew then pumped CO2 into the space which quickly stopped the smoke. Local authorities were alerted to the situation and two tugs accompanied the ferry back to port. All passengers were safely unloaded and no reports of panic on board during the incident. No reports of injuries or pollution released. Reports state the ferry was taken out of service for further investigation and repairs.
