On July 12, the 209 meter long, 10320 dwt ro-ro cargo vessel Abu Samrah (IMO: 9925655) went adrift in the Gulf of Izmir off Alsancak, Turkey. The Abu Samrah had broke away from its berth during a storm. The tugs Kurtarma 1 and Poyraz were dispatched and quickly got the ro-ro back to its mooring. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

On January 14, the 116 meter long, 1695 dwt ro-ro passenger ferry Kennicott allided with the 85 meter long, 450 dwt ro-ro passenger ferry Hubbard in Ketchikan, Alaska. The Kennicott struck the Hubbard while attempting to berth. The Kennicott sustained a damaged sponson and window while the Hubbard had only minimal damage. No reports of injuries or pollution released. Authorities were alerted of the incident and an investigation was launched.

On January 5, the 41 meter long 194 dwt ro-ro cargo vessel Grigory Lovtsov became stuck in ice in the Sea of Okhotsk off the Shantar Islands. The Grigory Lovtsov sent out a distress call that it was trapped in the ice and was risk of ice damaging the hull. Authorities dispatched a Mi-8 helicopter from Khabarovsk to assist the vessel. The helicopter arrived on scene and was able to safely rescue all 8 of the crew. They were taken to Nikolaevsk-on-Amur. No reports of injuries.
