Coast Guard vessel aground
The 105 meter long Coast Guard vessel Andenes went aground onto a reef near Rødbergsodden, Lenvik, Norway. The Norwegian vessel suffered hull damage with water ingress into the fresh water tank. No reports of injuries to the 67 people on board. The Andenes was able to pull herself free and proceeded at reduced speed under her own power. A rescue vessel and lifeboat was dispatched from Tromsø to escort the Andenes back to port. No reports of pollution released. There was a strong wind at the time, but there was no reports stating weather was a factor in the vessel’s grounding.
