Fire on Le Tai

The 169 meter long, 22,318 dwt freighter Le Tai suffered a fire in it’s hold while moored at the Rhenus Terminal at Rotterdam, Netherlands.  The fire broke out in the hold which contained a cargo of aluminum releasing dense smoke.   The crew contacted the local fire rescue who were able to extinguish the blaze quickly.   Reports state the cargo was removed from the hold to allow for inspection.    No reports of injuries.

The 182 meter long, 8795 dwt pipe layer vessel Lorelay suffered a fire while berthed in Rotterdam, Netherlands.   The Rotterdam Port Authority vessels responded quickly and were able to contain the blaze.   The fire was in a control room below deck.   No one was injured.

Bremen formerly named Accurat

The 31 meter long tug Bremen became disabled in the North Sea.   The Bremen had left Hamburg for Trieste when it suffered propulsion problems and required assistance.   The tug Fairplay XII took the Bremen under tow into Rotterdam where the it is berthed in Merwede Harbour.  No reports of injury or pollution being released.
