M. Andreev

The 138 meter long, 4038 dwt cargo vessel M. Andreev allided with two vessels at the anchorage at Azov, Russia. The M. Andreev was passing through the anchorage when it suffered steering gear failure. The M. Andreev struck the bow of the anchored 139 meter long cargo vessel Aleksandr Lebed and the stern of the anchored 128 meter long cargo vessel Rusich 2.

All three vessels sustained only slight damage and there were no reports of water ingress. There were no reports of injuries or pollution released. Local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

The 119 meter long cargo vessel Frisian Spring became disabled in the Gulf of Finland near Vysotsk, Russia. The vessel had suffered engine failure and resulted in a power blackout. The crew quickly dropped the anchor keeping the cargo vessel from striking the nearby pier.  The crew were able to restart the engine and resume its voyage. No reports of damage, injuries or pollution released.

On April 7, the 70 meter long, 3135 dwt general cargo vessel Daisy ran aground in the Azov Sea near Azov, Russia. The Daisy was en route to Rostov-on-Don from Turkey when it ran aground near the anchorage off Azov. The cargo vessel remained aground until the next day when a tug was able to pull it free. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. The Daisy proceeded on its voyage to Rostov-on-Don.
