The 128 meter long tanker Volgoneft 160 ran aground on the Volga River near the 1864 km mark. The Volgoneft 160 was en route to Kavkaz with 4144 tons of bunker fuel when it became stuck while completing a maneuver.  Reports state the tanker was aground at the stern with no injuries, damage or pollution released. River traffic was not impacted by the incident.

On September 14, the 128 meter long cargo vessel SV Knyaz Vladimir ran aground on the Don River, Russia. The SV Knyaz Vladimir had reduced speed to pass an oncoming vessel when it was blown aground by strong gust of wind. The following day a tug was able to refloat the SV Knyaz Vladimir. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

The 138 meter long, 5150 dwt cargo vessel Volgo Don 133 suffered damage on the Don River near Rostov-on-Don, Russia. The Volgo Don 133 was en route to Busan from Kavkaz in ballast when the vessel lost its port side propeller and part of the shaft. The vessel dropped anchor and traffic was halted so that divers could recover the propeller and shaft. No reports of injuries or pollution released.
