The 105 meter long cargo vessel Shizhnya ran aground on the Volga-Caspian Sea Canal near the 51 kilometer mark. The Shizhnya was en route to Astrakhan from Bandar Anzali when it went hard aground. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution release. A tug was dispatched to pull the Shizhnya free.
The 114 meter long cargo vessel Bellatrix ran aground in the Azov Sea near Yeysk, Russia. The Bellatrix was departing from Yeysk with a cargo of 3298 tons of corn when it blown out of the navigation channel and ran aground. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. The Bellatrix was later refloated with the aid of multiple tugs and proceeded to moor at a nearby outer anchorage.
The 116 meter long, 3340 dwt cargo vessel Amur 2505 ran aground on the Volga River near the 2837 kilometer mark. The Amur 2505 was en route to Rostov-on-Don from Turkmenistan with 2110 tons of carbamide when it grounded. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
