On May 19, the 110 meter long self-propelled tanker-barge Fint sprung a leak on the Rhine while berthed near Basel, Switzerland.  The Fint was bound for Birsfelden from Weil upon Rhine with a cargo of diesel fuel when it suffered water ingress in one of the cargo tanks. The crew was able to divert the cargo of fuel into another cargo tank.  Authorities were alerted and arrived on scene to monitor the situation. No reports of injuries or pollution released.

On April 19, the 110 meter long self-propelled tanker-barge Admiral allided with a bridge over the Van Starkenborgh Canal near Groningen, Netherlands.  As the tanker-barge passed under the Tafel Bridge, the wheelhouse struck the bridge.  The wheelhouse was destroyed, but the master of the Admiral was uninjured. He was able to secure the vessel to the shore after the allision. Authorities were alerted and launched an investigation into the incident. Reports state the canal traffic was halted only a few hours during the investigation.

On April 9, the 67 meter long self-propelled tanker-barge Rodort 8 allided with a railway bridge over the Rhine-Herne Canal in Herne, Germany. The wheelhouse of the Rodort 8 struck the underside of the bridge and was destroyed. The master of the Rodort 8 was injured and taken to hospital for treatment.

The Rodort 8 was towed to a nearby quay. Reports state damage to the Rodort 8 was over 100,000 €. The water police has launched an investigation into the incident.
