On March 21, the 190 meter long, 56539 dwt bulk carrier Xin Hai Tong 37 (IMO: 9594597) ran aground in the Sea of Marmara near Ahırkapı, Turkey.  The Xin Hai Tong 37 was headed to Mozambique from Russia when it went aground.

Authorities dispatched multiple vessels including the tugboats Kurtarma 7 and Kurtarma 9 to assist. The tugs were able to refloat the bulk carrier and proceeded to a nearby anchorage. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

On March 20, the 77 meter long, 867 gt tanker Kolin 2 (MMSI: 271043116 / IMO: 8622517) ran aground on Dardanelles near Kepez, Çanakkale, Turkey. The Kolin 2 was attempted to the enter the port of Kepez with 1160 cubic meters of waste when it suffered rudder failure and ran aground.

Authorities dispatched the tug Türkelí to pull the tanker free.  Divers inspected the hull of the Kolin 2 and found there was no damage from the grounding. No reports of injuries or pollution released.

On the afternoon of March 18, the 72 meter long, 2366 dwt cargo vessel Venture (IMO: 9030503) ran aground on the Elbe just  outside of Hamburg, Germany. The Venture had suffered engine problems and went adrift. The cargo vessel drifted until its stranded in shallow water. Authorities were alerted and dispatched multiple tugs to the scene. Reports state the tugs were successful and towed the Venture back to Hamburg.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
