Collision off Singapore

The 216 meter long, 93379 dwt bulk freighter Spring Glory collided with the 229 meter long, 35082 dwt container ship Josephine Maersk in the Singapore Strait.  Both vessels sustained minimal damage and were able to resume voyage.   The Spring Glory proceeded on to China while the Josephine Maersk headed to Tanjung Pelepas.  No reports of injuries or pollution being released.

The 188 meter long, 27176 dwt bulk freighter Dingxianghai collided with the 187 meter long, 41800 dwt freighter Dover Castle near Singapore.  The Dingxianghai was en route to Indonesia from Vietnam while the Dover Castle was en route from Italy to Sattahip, Thailand.   No further details reported.

The 130 meter long, 10701 dwt boxship Kota Tenaga collided with the 333 meter long VLCC tanker Seeb near Pulau Sebarok in the Strait of Singapore.   The Kota Tenaga suffered damage allowing five metric tons of fuel oil to be released into the water.  Authorities dispatched response vessels to the scene.  An oil boom was placed around the Kota Tenaga while dispersants were used to break up any oil patches sighted in the water.  No reports of injuries.   Authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.
