Singapore Collision

The 130 meter long, 10701 dwt boxship Kota Tenaga collided with the 333 meter long VLCC tanker Seeb near Pulau Sebarok in the Strait of Singapore.   The Kota Tenaga suffered damage allowing five metric tons of fuel oil to be released into the water.  Authorities dispatched response vessels to the scene.  An oil boom was placed around the Kota Tenaga while dispersants were used to break up any oil patches sighted in the water.  No reports of injuries.   Authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.

Collision off Singapore

Collision off Singapore

The 13303 dwt freighter Tay Son 4 collided with the 9800 dwt chemical tanker Nautica Batu Pahat in the eastern anchorage of Singapore.   The Nautica’s hull was torn open near the tanks section and engine room while the Tay Son 4 suffered damage to its forepeak and bulbous.   Both vessels remained at anchor.   No further details reported.

Falcon Princess Aground

Falcon Princess Aground

The 50 dwt passenger ferry Falcon Princess went aground north of Pulau Tekong, Singapore.   The Falcon Princess was proceeding to Tanjung Belungkor  from Changi with 24 passengers and 11 crew when the vessel experience engine trouble.   The ferry was beached where all passengers were safely transferred to another ferry.   No reports of injuries or pollution.  Authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.
