The 186 meter long, 7000 dwt r0-r0 passenger ferry Sicilia allided with the pier at Ibiza, Spain. The Sicilia had arrived from Barcelona in bad conditions. As the ferry maneuvered to dock, strong winds pushed the ferry to strike the pier. The Sicilia was able to moor later and allow passengers to disembark.

The Sicilia sustained hull damage at the starboard stern. The vessel was holed above the waterline. No reports of injuries to the crew or the 9 passengers on board at the time of the incident.

The Sicilia was pulled out of service for repairs. Reports state the ferry would be repaired in a few days.

The 24 meter long fishing vessel Gure Uxua became disabled off Cariño, Spain. The fishing vessel had  suffered engine failure and went adrift. The crew requested assistance with the lifeboat from the Salvamento Maritimó responding. The lifeboat arrived on scene and towed the Gure Uxua safely back to port. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

On December 9, the 18 meter long fishing vessel Siempre Urbegi sank off Malpica, Spain. The Siempre Urbegi had earlier struck a rock resulting in hull damage and water ingress. The 10 crew were unable to control the flooding and requested assistance before they were forced to abandon ship. The nearby fishing vessel Anzol responded and rescued the 10 crew from the life raft. Four crew sustained injuries and were later taken to hospital. The Spanish Coastguard arrived on scene and found the Siempre Urbegi in 16 meters of water. Divers were able to partially refloat the Siempre Urbegi later the same day to allow the vessel to be towed to Malpica.
