The 207 meter long passenger cruise ship Horizon ran aground in Stavanger, Norway. The cruise ship had nearly completed its voyage from Calais when it ran aground on a sandbar just off the docks in Stavanger. The crew requested assistance with several tugs responding. Tugs were able to refloat the Horizon and the crusise ship berthed in Stavanger. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. The cruise ship remained in port while divers inspected the hull.

The 73 meter long passenger ship Sandnes ran aground in the Lindøy Sound near South Rogaland, Norway.  The Sandnes was on a sightseeing tour when it struck bottom.   The hull suffered damage and water ingress, but the vessel’s pumps were able to control the flooding. The vessel requested assistance with a lifeboat dispatched to the scene.  The lifeboat had divers who inspected the hull while assisting the Sandnes in its refloating efforts.  The passenger vessel was refloated a short time later and proceeded to Stavanger.   No reports of injuries or pollution released.

The 146 meter long, 10500 dwt freighter BBC Emsland caught fire at Dusavika, Norway.  The fire sent out a dense cloud of smoke up from the hold where the cargo of plastic was burning.   The crew requested assistance with the local fire brigade responding.   The local fire brigade was able to bring the fire under control.   No reports of injuries and damage was limited.   The cause of the fire was not reported.
