Cathma

The 111 meter long, 6090 dwt freigher Cathma became disabled in the Gulf of Bothnia near Holmsund, Sweden.  The Cathma had suffered engine failure and requested assistance.   A tug took the freighter under tow and proceeded to Holmsund.   No reports of injuries, damage or pollution being released.  The Cathma was en route to Kaskinen from Kiel.

Tera Aground

Tera Aground

The 91 meter long, 3035 dwt freighter Tera ran aground off Öland, Sweden while en route to Västervik.  The vessel was able to be refloated under its own power and proceeded to Flivik.  No reports or injuries, damage or pollution released.  The authorities at Flivik launched an investigation into the incident.  Reports state the first mate may have fallen asleep at the wheel resulting in the grounding.

Alteland

Alteland

The 114 meter long, 4600 dwt ro-ro freighter Alteland ran aground near Hallstavik, Sweden.   The vessel was en route to Luebeck from Hallstavik when the vessel went aground after the crew made a navigational error.  No reports of injuries to the 10 crew on board or damage.  No signs of leaks or pollution released.  Divers were requested to check the hull.

Update: Later reports have stated the vessel suffered a power blackout which led to the vessel going aground.
