Magda D

The 75 meter long, 1537 dwt freighter Magda D allided with the 175 meter long, 29040 dwt tanker Maersk Barry in the Neuhofer Canal at Hamburg, Germany.   The Magda D was proceeding in the canal with a pilot when it lost control and struck the port side of the Maersk Barry.  The Magda D suffered damage to its railing and hatches while the Maersk Barry hull was dented.   No injuries reported.   The Magda D was able to proceed on its voyage to Luebeck.   Reports state the probable cause of the allision was due to the strong current in the canal at the time of incident.

Chance

The 182 meter long, 47106 dwt tanker Chance became disabled near Flushing, Netherlands.  The tanker had suffered steering failure requiring the vessel to drop anchor.   A tug was requested and took the Chance under tow to Vlissingen.   No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

Climene

The 141 meter long, 5600 dwt tanker Climena went aground on the Don River near Rostov-on-Don, Russia.  The Climena was attempting to anchor when it was pushed aground by strong winds.  Initial attempts to refloat the tanker failed.  Reports state the next refloating attempt on the next high tide.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
