The 243 meter long, 108760 dwt tanker Sea Bay became disabled and ran aground off Zeebrugge, Belgium. The Sea Bay was en route to Antwerp when it suffered engine failure and power blackout. The tanker went adrift and grounded on a sandbank some eight kilometers offshore. Unable to refloat itself, the Sea Bay requested assistance. Four tugs were dispatched and refloated the tanker on the following high tide. The tugs towed the Sea Bay to Ostend before proceeding to Zeebrugge for inspection.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

The 59 meter long tanker Bergen Troll allided with the 30 meter long barge Hörn 20 in the port of Kiel, Germany. The Bergen Troll had suffered a technical fault with the steering causing the the tanker to strike the moored barge. Both vessels sustained significant damage.  The Bergen Troll was detained by the water police until an investigation could be completed over the incident. Another barge was dispatched to the replace the Hörn 20.  Reports state the Bergen Troll was permitted to continue on its voyage to Rostock a few days later.  No reports of injuries.

The 128 meter long cargo vessel Sea Leader allided with the tanker SVL Unity in the Kerch Strait at the port of Kavkaz, Russia. The Sea Leader was departing from Kavkaz with 4300 tons of sunflower for Izmir, Turkey when it struck the berthed SVL Unity. Both vessels sustained only minor damage, but were detained in the port until surveys could be completed. No reports of injuries or pollution released.
