Georich

The ferry Georich became disabled in the Tañon Strait while off Alcoy, Cebu, Philippines.  The Georich left Dumaguete bound for Cebu with 400 passengers and crew when one of its engines malfunctioned causing the vessel to go adrift.  The crew were unable to restore power and sent out a distress call.   The Georich’s sister vessel Zamboanga responded and headed to the scene.   The Zamboanga took the Georich under tow and proceeded to Dumaguete.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
