Union Topaz

Union Topaz

The 88 meter long, 2362 dwt coastal freighter Union Topaz allided with the sea lock at Terneuzen, Netherlands.  The Union Topaz suffered damage to its bow and the lock suffered damage.   The cause of the allision was due to a navigation error.   No reports of injuries or pollution being released.  The Union Topaz was en route to Boston from Ghent.

Tug Aground at Terneuzen

The tug MTS Vengeance went aground at the old harbour of Terneuzen, Netherlands, coming to rest on the western pier.   Attempts to release the tug failed and it was decided to wait until the rising tide.  A few hours later, the tug was refloated with the tide.  The tug was escorted to port for a hull inspection.   No reports of injuries or pollution being released.
