The 98 meter long cargo vessel Xin Hong Xiang 59 struck a bridge over the Haihe River near Tianjin, China. The Xin Hong Xiang 59 failed to wait for the swing bridge to fully raise when it struck with its superstructure. The vessel had part of the bridge damaged while its mast was destroyed. Reports state the bridge sustained minor damage that was quickly repaired. No reports of injuries or pollution released.

On July 26, the 54 meter long tanker Yong Feng Da 8 ran aground on the Haihe River near Tianjin, China. The tanker was lightered and refloated later the same day.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution.

RICKMERS_HAMBURG

On May 30, the 193 meter long, 29980 dwt cargo vessel Rickmers Hamburg collided with the self-propelled barge Jiang Shun 1318 in the Bohai Sea off Tianjin, China. The Rickmers Hamburg was departing from Tianjin bound for Kobe, Japan when it struck the aft section of the Jiang Shun 1318. The barge partially sank as the stern flooded. One crewman was missing and another perished on the Jiang Shun. Authorities ordered the Rickmers Hamburg to an anchorage off Tianjin while an investigation is conducted.
