The 67 meter long, 1740 dwt cargo vessel Sukran Camuz caught fire while anchored in Mersin, Turkey. The fire spread through the superstructure.  Local tugs and fire brigades were called to the scene and were able to extinguish the blaze a few hours later. The superstructure sustained severe damage. Reports state the vessel had been at anchor in the area since 2008 and no crew was reported to be on board at the time.

The 109 meter long cargo vessel Norwind became disabled on the Dardanelles near Kumkale, Turkey. The Norwind was en route to Amsterdam from Tekirdag when it suffered engine failure.  The vessel contacted authorities who dispatched a tug.  The tug arrived on scene and towed the Norwind to a nearby anchorage. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

The 114 meter long, 8847 dwt bulk carrier Platres collided with the 79 meter long, 2300 dwt cargo vessel Tashin in the Marmara Sea off Istanbul, Turkey.  The Platres was en route to Mariupol when it was doing a maneuver toberth when it struck the Tashin.  Both vessels suffered hull damage and water ingress, but there was no pollution released. The Tashin remained at anchorage, but the Platres was able to continue its voyage.  Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
