The Kapitan Matveev requested assistance and tugs were dispatched to the scene. The tugs took the freighter under tow and proceeded to an anchorage in the Marmara sea. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution being released. The Kapitan Matveev was en route from Istanbul to Azov, Russia.
