The 108 meter long, 3197 dwt freighter Kapitan Matveev became disabled in the Istanbul Strait near Haydarpasa, Turkey.  The freighter had suffered engine failure and went adrift.   The Kapitan Matveev requested assistance and tugs were dispatched  to the scene.   The tugs took the freighter under tow and proceeded to an anchorage in the Marmara sea.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution being released.  The Kapitan Matveev was en route from Istanbul to Azov, Russia.

Mir Jalal Pashayev

The 140 meter long, 6970 dwt freighter Mir Jalal Pashayev became disabled on the Bosporus near Üsküdar, Turkey.  The freighter had suffered engine failure and went adrift.   The crew was able to stop the vessel before it went aground by dropping anchor.   The vessel contacted the Coast Guard who dispatch a tug to the scene.  The Mir Jalal Pashayev was taken under tow to Yenikapi for repairs.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.   The Mir Jalal Pashayev had been en route to Taganrok from Istanbul.

TM Cheget

TM Cheget

The 98 meter long, 3732 dwt freighter TM Cheget became disabled in the Instanbul Strait near Poyrazkoy.   The TM Cheget was en route to Novorossiysk from Perama when it suffered engine failure.   The vessel requested assistance with a rescue boat and tug responding.   The tug took the freighter under tow to a safe anchorage near Kilyos Dalia.   No reports of injuries, damage or pollution being released.
