Volgoneft 56

The 132 meter long, 4980 dwt tanker Volgoneft 56 went aground on the Volga River near the 876 kilometer mark.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.   The Volgoneft 56 was en route to St. Petersburg, Russia with 4198 tons of heavy fuel.   The vessel will refloat itself when the water level rises on the river.

Sestroretsk

The 128 meter long, 3484 dwt freighter Sestroretsk went aground on the Volga River near the 2784 kilometer mark.   The Sestroretsk attempted to refloat itself, but failed.  A tug has been requested to assist with refloating efforts.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution being released.  The Sestroretsk was en route to Astrakhan, Russia from turkey with miscellaneous cargo.
