Volzhskiy 49 Aground
The 138 meter long, 5132 dwt freighter Volzhskiy 49 went aground in the Kerch Strait between the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea. Attempts to refloat itself failed, the owner has not reported further salvage information. The Volzhskiy 49 was proceeding to Antalya, Turkey from Rostov-on-Don with a cargo of 3700 metric tons of ammonium sulfate. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution being released.
