On the morning of November 14, a 9.77 ton fishing vessel (name not disclosed) caught fire in the Yellow Sea off the coast of Boryeong, South Korea. The vessel had departed with 21 persons on board from Boryeong when a fire broke out on the vessel.  Nearby fishing vessels came to their aid and safely evacuated all 21 off the burning ship.

Authorities dispatched vessels which attempted to extinguish the blaze, but the fire had already spread through out the superstructure.  Reports state the flames eventually engulfed the entire vessel before it sank. The South Korean Coast Guard has launched an investigation into the incident.

On the morning of November 11, a 98-ton Chinese fishing vessel (name not disclosed) capsized in the Yellow Sea approximately 150 kilometers southwest of Gageodo Island, Jeolla Province, South Korea. Reports state there were 11 crew on board the fishing vessel at the time of the incident. South Korean Coast Guard has launched a search and rescue operation with 4 patrol boats and helicopter to search the area.  Six crew were rescued by a passing fishing vessel and reported in good condition.  Two bodies were later recovered by the South Korean Coast Guard. The remaining 3 crew members are still reported as missing.

On the morning of November 9, the Shandong maritime authorities reported a cargo vessel (name not disclosed) collided in the Yellow Sea with a fishing vessel (name not disclosed) approximately 3.5 nautical miles east of Chengshantou, China. The cargo vessel was reported to be undamaged, but the fishing vessel sustained uncontrolled flooding and later sank. Authorities state there were 9 crew members on board the fishing vessel at the time of the incident.  A search and rescue operation was launched from Weihai with both vessels and helicopters searching for survivors. Local cargo and fishing vessels were asked to assist in the efforts. Reports state that 1 crew member was rescued and was in stable condition.
