Yuanjiang Collision
Two vessels collided on the Yuanjing River near Yuanjiang City, Hunan Province, China. A vessel with 22 people on board collided with an empty sand barge. The vessel capsized and the bow became submerged. Ten people were pulled from the water and rescued by local fishermen. Eleven other people on board perished. The survivors were taken to hospital for medical treatment. The cause of the incident is being investigated by local authorities.
