The general cargo vessel Myskhako went aground in the Volga-Caspian Channel with 5197 tons of steel cargo. The vessel was heading from the Volga delta city of Astrakhan, Russia for Bandar-e Anzali (Enzeli), Iran. Reports state the vessel requires tug assistance to be refloated.

Tiger Spring Damaged

Container ship sinking in Hooghly

The container vessel Tiger Spring went aground on a sandbar on the navigation channel on the Hooghly River. The vessel had been struck earlier by the motor vessel 12571 dwt Green Valley where the Hooghly and Rupnarayan rivers meet at Nurpur, India. The Tiger Spring was heading for Colombo after unloading containers at Kolkata. Reports state the vessel was hit amidship and that there was a release of pollution into the river.

Update:

Reports state the Tiger Spring was released and taken to Diamond Harbour for repairs.

Seo Jin No. 11

Seo Jin No. 11

The South Korean trawler Seo Jin No. 11 caught fire while in harbor in Montevideo, Uruguay. The fire onboard could not be contained and the vessel was towed out to the outer harbor. The Seo Jin was loaded with ammonia for the refrigeration system and fuel onboard. Reports state 38 crew evacuated with 1 crewman lost.
