Knot A Care?

The 38-foot long fishing vessel Knot A Care became disabled off Provincetown, Massachussets.  The  crew were unable to start the engines and the vessel was drifting closer into the shippings lanes.  The crew contacted the Coast Guard which dispatched the cutter Grand Isle which took the fishing vessel under tow.   No reports of injuries, damage or pollution.

Eira Allision

The 8436 dwt ferry Eira loaded with passengers and vehicles allided with the ferry pier while leaving  Flakk, Norway.    The Eira suffered damage to the propeller and a fuel tank was holed, but no passengers were injured.  The Eira returned to the dock and unloaded passengers and vehicles.   Authorities were contacted and booms were deployed as 1700 liters of oil was released from the punctured tank flowed into the harbour.    Reports state the Eira will require drydock for repairs.

Anja Disabled

Anja Disabled

The 9210 dwt freighter Anja was disabled at the entrance of the Dardanelles when it suffered an engine failure.   Authorities from the Traffic Services Center were able to send out the Kurtama 1 to the Anja to assist the vessel to a safe anchorage.   The Anja with 11 crewmen was to deliver 7848 tons rolls from Ceuta to Gemlik.   No reports of injuries, damage or pollution.
