Divers were able to weld on a temporary patch to the 172 meter long Statengracht at Rostock.   The patch was able to stock the water ingress allowing the vessel’s pump to clear out the cargo hold.  Reports state the vessel’s cargo of wood pellets (cellulose) had to be unloaded with the majority undamaged.  The water police had stated that a navigational error may have the caused the collision to occur.

Grande Nigeria

Grande Nigeria

The 214 meter long, 26169 dwt Con-Ro cargo vessel Grande Nigeria allided with an embankment at Le Havre, France.   The Grande Nigeria was departing the harbour bound for Dakar when a strong gust of  pushed the vessel onto the embankment.   A few hours later, four tugs were able to pull the vessel back into port.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

MV Ladylin

MV Ladylin

The freighter MV Ladylin went aground near the Dassalan Island, Philippines.  The vessel was en route to  Tawi-Tawi with 20,000 bags of cement when it suffered engine failure and went adrift.   No reports of injuries.   The Coast Guard responded and safely removed the crew.   A salvage plan is being created to see if the MV Ladylin can be towed safely.   An investigation has been launched into the incident.
